Challenges for the 2022-2023 cycle of JUMP into STEM will be released in August 2022.
Awards
During the academic calendar year, three JUMP into STEM challenge competitions will be held. Winners of each challenge will be:
Invited to compete in the final competition in January 2023, for a paid summer internship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), or the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL),
Invited to collaborate on a JUMP into STEM webinar to present on their idea, and
Considered for future research and development collaboration.
About the Final Competition
JUMP into STEM will host a Final Competition at NREL on January 26-27, 2023.
The top teams from the 2022–2023 JUMP into STEM Challenge Series will compete for 10-week summer 2023 paid internships at ORNL, NREL, or PNNL.* These internship awards are designed to promote an enhanced training environment for the next generation of scientists, architects, and engineers by exposing them to research challenges unique to the building industry.
JUMP into STEM Challenge Series winners will receive the following:
A token of recognition, and one-on-one mentorship session with an industry expert.
An opportunity to compete in a juried presentation session, culminating in selection and announcement of the internship winners.
Participation and access to challenge activities, including tours, inspiring presentations, and career connection networking.
